MasterBee Program Timeline
(Entire process from the first year of undergraduate study to master's graduation)
Before Applying to the Program
(1st–6th semesters)
Requirements:
- Completion of all courses in the first six semesters of the major curriculum
- Major GPA ≥ 3.00
- Application can be made at the beginning of the 7th semester at the earliest
Application Period
(Beginning of the 7th or 8th semester)
For applications at the beginning of the 7th semester:
- All courses in the first six semesters of the curriculum must have been successfully completed
For applications at the beginning of the 8th semester:
- All courses in the first seven semesters of the curriculum must have been successfully completed
Post-acceptance Undergraduate Phase
- The coordinator of the admitted program is appointed as the academic advisor.
- Each semester, at least 1 and at most 2 master's courses are taken.
- Students taking two courses may take the Engineering Design course as a non-credit course with advisor approval.
* Erasmus students and students of the Maritime Faculty are exempt in certain semesters.
* A student who does not take a master's course even in a single semester is removed from the program.
* Students cannot register for seminar/doctoral courses until they have completed their undergraduate degree.
- BUS (Industry/Sector-Oriented Integrated Internship) is optional for up to a maximum of 200 working days.
Master's courses taken in this period appear as “non-credit” on the transcript.
Undergraduate Graduation Phase
At the end of the 8th semester
- Undergraduate education must be completed in at most eight semesters.
- Students who exceed this period are removed from the program.
Criteria for transition to the master's phase
- Completion of undergraduate studies at the end of the 8th semester
- Major GPA ≥ 3.00
- Satisfying the foreign language and ALES/GRE/GMAT requirements
If these conditions are not met, the student cannot progress to the master's phase within the scope of the integrated program.
Transition to the Master's Program
(The semester following completion of the undergraduate degree)
- Courses taken as non-credit are converted to credit-bearing courses with institute approval.
- The remaining master's courses are registered.
- The thesis advisor and thesis topic are determined.
- Once course credits are completed, the student registers for thesis work.
- A project may be carried out in an industrial/research institution within the scope of BUS.
* Lateral transfer is not allowed during the master's phase.
* Non-credit courses taken by students who leave MasterBee may be counted toward subsequent master's programs upon board approval.
Master's Graduation
(9th–12th semesters)
The thesis-based master's program consists of 21 credits of coursework, a seminar and a thesis. Once all requirements are fulfilled, the graduation process is initiated.
